During the time between the wars there were 4 different legal systems in force in Poland. This was due to the history of the development of Poland as a state and can be seen as a heritage from the divisions of Poland in the late 1700. Only after World War II changes were possible. The article reviews the 4 new regulations on family rights which came into force on 1 January 1946.
